Physical Therapist

Cynthia Mendez attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health promotion and fitness. She completed the Physical Therapy program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2006. After receiving her Texas state licensure in physical therapy, she joined Pyramid Plaza Physical Therapy in July 2006. She was awarded her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2015. She is a certified specialist in orthopedics since 2013.

She has developed an interest in manual therapy and core stabilization programs in managing low back pain. As a physical therapist, she values her role in treating patients as a whole and not as a diagnosis. She believes in providing individualized programs tailored to specific needs and goals, and integrating evidence based practice with everyday clinical decisions while emphasizing fitness, education and prevention.

Cynthia is a native Texan who was born and raised in Del Rio.

* Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) refers to a clinical specialization in physical therapy that requires knowledge, skill, and experience unique to Orthopedics and exceeding that of the non OCS physical therapist. The program was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in the special area of orthopedics.
