Physical Therapist

Mary Lee “Bitsy” Pratt, a native Texan, graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She received her Masters of Arts in Administration in 1999 from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She was awarded her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She worked with different patient populations in a variety of settings before settling into the outpatient setting. She began private practice in 1984 with the opening of Great Northwest Physical Therapy. In 1991, she expanded her practice at a second location, Pyramid Plaza Physical Therapy, and consolidated both practices to the Pyramid Plaza location in 1995.

Bitsy has a special interest in the care and treatment of the spine. She trained at Michigan State University in Osteopathic manual therapy. She is proficient in the McKenzie protocol and Jones strain/counterstrain techniques. Throughout her career, she has studied under prominent names in physical therapy such as Shirley Sharman, Lawrence Jones D.O., and Ola Grimsby. She is certified through Polestar as a Pilates for rehabilitation specialist.

She believes that physical therapy is more than restorative; it enhances the quality of life and restores the joy of movement that is so important to our health and happiness.

* Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) refers to a clinical specialization in physical therapy that requires knowledge, skill, and experience unique to Orthopedics and exceeding that of the non OCS physical therapist. The program was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in the special area of orthopedics.
